My name is Jennie, and I’m a Readaholic

Readaholicadjective

One who reads all the time. Recess, lunch, and those few minutes you get when the teacher/boss stops speaking. Will also ignore friends in favour of reading.

By any definition, I’ve been a readaholic since about the age of 5, when I picked up my first book without pictures. I was never what you would call a social kid. My friends were books and the characters in them. Reading was a source of comfort and joy, as well as entertainment. Decades later and this remains true. Books are a driving force in my life.

Over the years I’ve read anything that I could get my hands on, and I’ve used a ridiculous number of tools to document and catalogue my progress. I’ve got libraries on my desktop and online, reviews across different platforms and sites, and the one thing that they all have in common is that they’re not connected to each other in any way. That stops now, today, with this site. My hope is to use this site for documenting what I’ve read, sharing what I find interesting, and guiding others who are looking for something good to read. If there’s one thing that the last year of lockdowns and quarantines has taught us all, it’s that a good book can be worth it’s weight in entertainment value!
