Titan, by Sarah Bailey – A Book Review

A week ago I thought that the best Sarah Bailey book I’d ever read was Tyrant. And then Zayn’s brother, Gil, came into my life and I have a new favourite SB novel!! And don’t think for a single second that I mean this in a hyperbolic way – this book is getting one of my rare 5-star reviews after I’ve read it twice in four days!!

Before we get too deep into this, I must add a disclaimer. I was once again privileged enough to get an advanced copy of this newest book in Bailey’s Villetti Chronicles series ahead of its release, and I was asked to provide a review. Also, this book does have some scenes that could be problematic for people with certain triggers. I’ve included a list below, you can also check out Sarah Bailey’s website for more information.

For more details about Titan, read on! I didn’t include any major spoilers in this review, so you’re safe to keep reading if you don’t want specifics about what happens.

Tease, by Sarah Bailey – A Book Review

At this point I automatically assume that anything Sarah Bailey writes is going to be golden. She’s never done me wrong yet, why would she start now?

I was privileged enough to get an advanced copy of the newest book in Bailey’s Villetti Chronicles series ahead of its release, and I have read it twice over since then because it was THAT GOOD. This is basically going to be known in my home library as “the book that got me through my bout with Covid”.

For more details about Tease, read on! I didn’t include spoilers in this review, so you’re safe to keep reading if you don’t want the deets.

Tyrant – A Book Review

Is there anything more delicious than getting to read an ARC of the new book by one of your favourite authors? Buckle up, fellow readers, because I got to read Tyrant from Sarah Bailey and oooooh boy, it was good!

The standard ARC disclaimer goes here: I did receive a copy of this book for free with the caveat that I would then provide a review of said book. There was no guarantee or requirement for me to provide a positive review – I’m doing that just because I really liked it.

Also, there are some minor spoilers below. I’m not writing out whole paragraphs detailing the plot and the ending or anything, but I am going to reference a couple of quotes and a favourite scene or two. If you would rather go in completely spoiler-free, you may want to avoid my full review.

From Fame to Ruin – A Book Review

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Jina Bazzar and asked if I would be willing to read a copy of her new book, From Fame to Ruin, in exchange for providing a review. Since I am a sucker for a new book, I happily agreed. I’m so very glad that I did, as this was a pretty great book for breaking my fall reading hibernation. There’s more info on the book below, along with my review, but first here’s a synopsis:

What if surviving a murder attempt, a heartbreak, and the loss of the family business wasn’t the hardest thing you ever faced?

Carol is the sole heir to a broken empire, Ricardo the newest celebrity in the rock world.
When they came together, their fire blazed. When their past caught up, they were left burned, scorched to the ground.

When a psychopath decides it’s payback time, Carol is faced with an impossible choice – save her son or sell her life.

Ricardo wants nothing to do with the woman who played him for a fool, but finds himself moored by circumstances, half truths, and memories of the past.
They say time can heal anything. So far, time’s brought nothing but complications.

New Releases for October 18-24, 2021

There’s a new Lori Foster novel this month!!!!! That is all, thank you for your attention.

Seriously, though. Lori Foster is one of those authors for me, the one who’s books always get put on my shelf no matter what. This week’s “new” release is actually a re-release of one of her older works. I seriously don’t care. I’m grabbing it and curling up with it anyways.

Here are some of the new releases that I’m looking forward to adding to my Kindle this week. Is there anything here that you find interesting? I would love to hear what everyone else is reading. Drop a note in the comments and fill me in!

Carnage – A Book Review

I just finished this book a couple of hours ago and not only did I have to immediately start the next entry in the series, but I had to talk about it. Here’s the book jacket info so you know what we’re talking about today:

They call us The Four Horsemen.
Four friends forged in fire and blood.
No one knows where we came from nor how we got our name.
Drake, Francis, West and I rule the financial industry like kings.
Gods in our own right.

We grew up with a fifth. A girl. Scarlett.
She was one of us until she was ripped away from her life. The only trace of her was dust in the wind.

One day she returned to the city and sought us out. Scarlett couldn’t remember who we’d been to her, but we recalled her all too well.

If she knew what was good for her, she would have never come back. The moment she stepped through the doors of Fortuity, it was the beginning of her end. And the start of our reign over the girl who wanted us dead.

Check out Harlequin Junkie’s Review of ‘Just One Chance’!

I’m a fan of the Harlequin Junkie blog, and I’m a fan of Carly Phillips. So when I saw that Harlequin Junkie had a review of the newest Carly Phillips book, I was all over that!

REVIEW: Just One Chance by Carly Phillips

The great thing about Carly Phillips’s stories is that they’re consistent. Some people will use the word ‘formulaic’ but I dislike that term when it comes to romance. All romance novels follow a certain formula – it’s a requirement for the genre. That doesn’t mean that an author can’t tell a compelling story within established boundaries. And Phillips does a great job with that.
